About Down on the farm

Down on the Farm is an annual two day music, camping, and arts festival held in Manhattan, Illinois. Bringing in both local and regional acts from around the Midwest in genres such as rock, funk, bluegrass, and folk, as well as a wide range of artists, visual performers, and crafters, the festival creates a truly unique atmosphere for families and adults alike. Each year for almost a decade, Down on the Farm has grown to welcome increasing numbers of fans and music across multiple stages, while maintaining a well-produced, exceptionally organized, and beautiful camping and festival experience for all.

Event Information

The Festival and campground will open at 10:00am on Friday, July 28th.  All attendees must enter through the front gate to receive wristbands and be escorted to parking.  Children 12 and under have free admittance to the festival, but must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Guests may bring their own food as well as alcoholic (if over 21) and non-alcoholic beverages.  Food and drink are also available for purchase from several vendors on site. 

FESTIVAL RULES
  • No illegal drugs or weapons allowed on festival grounds.
  • Underage drinking is strictly prohibited-No exceptions!
  • No Glass Please – plastic, and aluminum only!
  • No fireworks or fires - small grills and camp stoves are fine. 
  • Vending will only be allowed by registered vendors in the designated vending areas.
  • No fighting , you will be thrown out immediately
  • Take care of each other, be sensible, and behave responsibly 
  • No having a bad time – violators will be cheered up quickly
cAMPING iNFORMATION

Camping is included with your admission to Down on the Farm.  There are no cars allowed in the campground area unless an RV pass is purchased.  To purchase an RV pass for car or RV camping, click here. 

Primitive showers and restrooms will be available onsite. 

Pets

Sorry, no pets are allowed.  We do love pets but we have to keep them at home. Service Animals which have been trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability are allowed, but must be checked in at the front gate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gates open at 10:00am on Friday, July 28th. We will not be allowing anyone with GA or other tickets on the grounds before the gates open.

Friday day pass holders can arrive when gates open at 10:00am on Friday, July 28th. Friday only ticket holders may camp overnight, but must be off the festival grounds by 10:00 on Saturday, July 29th.

Saturday day pass holders can arrive anytime after 8:00am on Saturday, July 29th and can stay overnight until Sunday, July 230th.

Nope. Only staff is allowed on the grounds prior to 10:00 AM CST on the Friday, July 28th.

If you arrive Thursday, you will be asked to stay in your vehicle outside of the festival grounds until the morning. There are nearby campgrounds if you’d like to come out early and camp down the road.

Tent camping is included with your festival admission. The campground is located adjacent to the concert bowl area in a beautiful apple orchard.

RV Passes maybe be purchased here for an additional $20. RV Passes include primitive RV camping spots approximately 40’x16′ (no water or electricity). All RV passengers must also have a festival admission ticket.

For the protection of the orchard trees, we do not allow cars in the campground area. However, assistance will be available during most parts of the day to help shuttle gear the short distance from the parking lot to the camping area.

For the safety of our guests, camping is only allowed in the RV spaces or campground, and not in the parking lot area or concert bowl.

If you would like to park next to your campsite, please purchase an RV pass for an additional $20.

Yes! Please feel free to bring your own food and beverages for the weekend. Reasonable amounts of alcoholic beverages for personal consumption only may be permitted into the camping areas if you of legal age (21+). Be responsible, and please do not drink and drive.

Remember, glass is not allowed!

Yes! We will have several food vendors on site with a variety of food and non-alcoholic beverage options available. Additionally, we will have beer available for purchase in the concert bowl for attendees 21+. An ID is required for beer purchase.

For the protection of the orchard trees, fires are not allowed in the campground area. Small grills and camp stoves are fine for cooking food.

Weather permitting, we will have a community campfire in the concert bowl area.

If you lose something, check the lost and found at the Merch building in the concert bowl. After the festival, check the FB page where we will post about unclaimed items, etc., and contact us to let us know if you’ve lost something that wasn’t recovered during the festival. If we find it, we’ll let you know ASAP!
